**Role and Summary**:
The Primary Health Care Nurse is responsible to improve employee productivity by minimizing the impact of non-work-related illness & injury.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure that specialist care is given to patients.
- Assess, examine, diagnose and treat patients according to their scope and level of knowledge by taking a health history, conducting a physical examination, interpreting vital signs and tests (TPR, BP, Urine tests etc.)
- Where relevant, informs business unit management of occupational diseases and injuries that require the attention
- Educates patients and other departments within the company on the prevention of illnesses and the promotion of good health.
- Provides the multidisciplinary team with the health status of employees presenting with chronic disease as required and in accordance with company and professional standards
- Monitor, manage and track the patient rehabilitation journey in line with the incapacity and disability policies and procedure of the client.
- Takes responsibility for identifying non-compliant and uncontrolled employees within her area of specialty (PHC)
- Facilitate communication between the patient, medical practitioners, multidisciplinary team and employer representatives in respect of optimal working conditions according to the health needs of the patient.
- Compile a non-conformance plan on audit outcome and ensure deadlines are being achieved.
- Ensure that all orders placed are within the clinic budget and on time as per standard schedule. Order according to approved EDL.
- Ensure drug books are completed and balance on a daily basis and signed off by the OMP.
- Ensure that Temp check lists and Oxygen check list are conducted daily and records in place.
- Overseeing and managing employees with chronic illness & those returning from risk pool, post - illness and post injury on duty.
- Initiate regular meetings with client to identify and resolve poor compliance with regards to chronic diseases, RTW and / or ill health.
- Actively participate in monthly staff meeting to address clinic performance indicators. (chronic disease management, stock control and audits

**Education**

Essentials
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council
- Diploma in General Nursing
- Dispensing license

Preferred
- Primary Health Care Diploma
- Community Health Nursing Diploma
- Basic Life Support

**Work Experience**

Essential - Experience in an Occupational Health environment

Preferred - At least 2 years’ experience in a Community Health/PHC setting

**Knowledge**

Essential - Computer literacy

Preferred - Health Industry knowledge

**Salary**: R25,394.00 - R29,626.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Koedoespoort, North West: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (preferred)
