**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct land preparation activities, including soil analysis, plowing, and tillage practices to create optimal growing conditions.
- Select appropriate maize cultivars based on local conditions, climate, and market demands.
- Develop and implement fertilization programs tailored to maximize maize yield and nutritional requirements.
- Monitor and control pests and diseases through integrated pest management (IPM) approaches.

Implement irrigation systems and schedule irrigation to ensure proper moisture levels for maize crops.
- Implement crop rotation and sustainable farming practices to optimize soil health and productivity.
- Plan and execute efficient harvesting techniques, including post-harvest handling and storage practices.

Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and marketing strategies for maize products.
- Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders in the maize farming industry.
- Maintain accurate records of crop performance, expenses, and yields for analysis and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all farming activities.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a maize farmer with a track record of optimizing yields and managing large-scale maize farming operations.
- In-depth knowledge of land preparation techniques, cultivar selection, fertilization programs, pest and disease control, irrigation systems, and harvesting practices specific to maize farming.
- Strong understanding of market trends, pricing, and marketing strategies for maize products.
- Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) approaches and sustainable farming practices.
- Ability to analyze and interpret soil test results for proper fertilization and soil management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and perform basic data analysis for informed decision-making.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to maize farming.

Qualifications:

- Associated Degree
- 5 years Minimum experience in Maize Farming in a Managerial position
