Leading the high-end student accommodation in South Africa, our client has set itself apart by providing a refreshing face to the ever-growing young market. Owning, redeveloping and managing their portfolio inhouse has allowed them to offer a leisure like feel to their growing compliment of clients. In their buildings housing over 10,000 beds spread across four cities, they intend to make everyone's university stay as luxurious as possible by offering all services inhouse. This means that you can choose a studio or a 4-bedroom apartment, while enjoying free WIFI, a fitness center, a laundromat, a computer center and a tranquil study area. To be based at one of their buildings in Pretoria, living onsite, they are looking for a Residence Manager to take charge. Your energetic students will have you managing a variety of department to ensure that the building is on par with company policies, and that your tenants, as well as their parents are living in a happy and safe environment.

This will have you dealing with facilities, utilities, suppliers, financial and staff management. Each building has a strong Duty Manager in-house who will look after the maintenance of the building or you, but you will have to ensure that everything is running and in good standing. This will include the security staff, health and safety policies, ensuring that lifts and HVAC maintenance are adhered to, and that transportation and canteen services are sorted. You have to be a creative thinker to implement energy saving tips and plans to ensure that you can monitor your electrical and water usage. Understanding heat pumps, air conditioning and reporting on monthly consumption will assist you in your monthly report.
