I.t. Technician

**Introduction**

Our manufacturing client in Durban is looking for an I.T. Technician to join their team. He / she will be responsible for maintaining computer systems and servers, troubleshooting errors, running diagnostic tests, repairing computer hardware, and providing technical support to staff. Additionally, he / she will need to monitor network performance, secure networks and data, ensure proper cybersecurity of company’s information and data.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Setting up and installing new hardware and software systems.

Diagnosing and troubleshooting computer, network, connectivity, and server issues.

Maintaining hardware, software, and security systems by conducting regular maintenance and updates.

Performing as well as developing data archiving, backup, and retrieval procedures.

Installing well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components

Set up and configure computers and peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, etc

Documenting network processes and layouts, as well as enhancing network security

Presenting regular feedback reports on IT network security to management.

Barcoding troubleshooting

Biometric access control management.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**

Relevant tertiary qualification

Certified Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco network professional preferred.

At least two years' experience as an IT support technician.

In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, connectivity, computer hardware, software, and security.

Active directory and database management

Experience working in a manufacturing environment - advantageous

ERP knowledge - advantageous
