Medical Aid rate based on principal member only)- To be confirmed- Advert Closing Date- 5/2/2024- Job PurposeThe purpose of this opportunity is to appoint a part-time lecturer to teach English Home Language in the Department of Intermediate
- and Foundation Phase (not exceeding 24 hours per month at a rate of R275 per hour).
- Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- A relevant Masters degree in Education with English as a major at Bachelor’s level
- At least two (2) years' relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years’ recent relevant experience in teaching English Home Language at school level
- A relevant teaching qualification
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation and evaluation of meaningful teaching experiences for Intermediate
- and Foundation Phase students
- Experience and knowledge of support and differentiated teaching for learners experiencing barriers to learning related to Language
- Ability to teach using a hybrid approach involving both on-campus and online methods.
- Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities- Teaching in the Intermediate (and Foundation) Phases
- Administrating, supervising and evaluating teaching experiences
- English learning support for and in multilingual classrooms
- Academic administration
- Curriculum development and learning material design

- Evaluating students on teaching practice in schools
- Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
