Autism Practitioner, Teacher

This is a full day therapist / teaching position for qualified people with prior Autism related working experience.
AMAZING K works on a 4 term basis (as per the ISASA Private School Calendar)
- 4:1 classroom based placement as well as 1:1 intervention when needed
- Lesson planning and implementation of curriculum (some experience with either teachering or autism essential for this position)
- Classroom management
- Observing student behavior in class relating to anxiety, sharing, communication challenges, transitioning challenges, generalization etc
- Implementation of behaviour strategies to help the young child move through them
- Implementation of visual schedules
- Bathroom training and behaviour intervention
- Feeding/eating therapy Speech Therapists
- Working closely with team of Speech Therapists
- Helping student in a group setting overcome challenging behaviour
- Communicate with parents when required
- Report writing
- Assessment writing
- Record keeping
- Have proven work experience in the autism or special education field of at least 6 - 12 months.
- Relevant degree in either Psycology or Education
- Expertise and true desire to work with children in a teaching capacity
- Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills
- Relevant training and degree in Phycology required - essential requirement

**Salary**: R8,000.00 - R9,000.00 per month
