**We are looking for a Housekeeping Trainer**
- Based in Cape Town
- Own Vehicle
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in housekeeping in the hospitality or cleaning sector
- Previous Experience with handling Department of Social Development inspections and Department of Health inspections
- Expensive experience with various laundry protocols
- Development of policies in line with housekeeping requirements

**Responsibilities**:

- You will be one of the company’s ambassadors for the importance of training in the Housekeeping department.
- You will monitor and evaluate the ongoing training and will ensure the teams are educated
- On the correct and agreed company procedures and practices in each of the units.

**Skills, Experience and requirements**
- Housekeeping or hospitality experience is desirable
- 5 to 8 years as a housekeeping trainer
- Own vehicle is required as you will need to drive to different units throughout the Western Cape.

**Duties**:

- Do an assessment / audit of the unit by walking through/inspecting and note down discrepancies/non-compliances
- Discuss those non-compliances and set rules in place /do training to ensure unit is in compliance.
- Provides and facilitates on-the-job and theory training for staff (cleaners and HK supervisors) within areas of responsibility - leadership, cleaning, laundry, chemicals etc
- Help organize working procedures and make changes to ensure efficiency
- Set up cleaning schedules, work schedules and check lists unique for each unit but still in accordance to company policy and procedures
- Make sure unit is in compliance with regards to Department of Health and Social Development requirements.
- Do a report after each visit and send it to the Operations Manager
- Visit the client and build up a relationship.
- Help units with ordering correct chemicals and choosing a supplier that will fit their budget but at the same time cover the needs of the unit
- From time to time conduct training to residents or nurses with regards to Infection Control
- Open new units - set up Housekeeping department with initial training, work and cleaning schedules
- Establish and/or implement operating procedures and standards
- Ensure laundry is equipped and organized according to DOH
- Ensure correct chemicals and cloths are being used in each section
- Update standard operating manuals for Housekeeping and ensures that systems are in place and adhered to.
- Ensures that all documentation used in work areas are up dated and presentable.
- Monitors staff in areas of responsibility.
- Check that supervisors are doing Balance Score cards
- Do follow up checks at units to ensure schedules or new things that was implemented are followed through
- Assist with functions at times
- Check hygiene and grooming standards
- Write a monthly training that is issued to all HK units
- Deals proactively and decisively with conflict and misconduct.
- All other duties as assigned by Manager
- Must be able to travel nationally

**Experience**:

- Housekeeping Training: 4 years (required)
- Housekeeping: 5 years (required)
