**About the role**:
Work Location: Hillcrest (Durban), South Africa
Reporting To: RD&A Admin Supervisor

**Key responsibilities**:

- Co-ordination of shelf-life testing, manage end to end of Spray Drying
- Weighing of recipes which includes, basic powder weighing, chemical weighing, 25kg to 100kg trial blends, QC Standards
- Maillard Reaction Flavours
- Applications onto soft and hard extrudes, pellets, biscuits
- Occasional cooking up of samples, eg: soups or soya mince
- Labelling samples correctly according to letters or packing slips and providing packaging support for outgoing samples
- Maintaining records of retention samples
- Maintaining raw materials levels and the QC of incoming raw materials

**Qualifications and skills**:

- Diploma in Food Science, or similar field
- Minimum 1 year experience within the Food and Beverage industry, as a R&D specialist.
- Strong R&D knowledge will be a bonus
