**Responsibilities**:
Laundry Operations: Operate commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding machines, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
Sorting and Processing: Sort and organize linens, garments, and other laundry items based on fabric type, color, and specific instructions.
Stain Removal and Treatment: Identify and treat stains on fabrics using appropriate stain removal techniques and products to ensure the best possible results.
Ironing and Folding: Iron, press, and fold laundered items neatly and accurately, maintaining proper techniques and quality standards.
Quality Control: Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, freshness, and proper finishing, addressing any issues or reprocessing as needed.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of linens, uniforms, and other laundry items, ensuring adequate stock and reporting shortages.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain laundry equipment, including regular cleaning, lint removal, and reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to safety and sanitation protocols, including proper handling and storage of chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of laundry operations, including items processed, dates, special instructions, and any issues or incidents.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other laundry staff, supervisors, and team members to ensure smooth operations, effective communication, and timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience working in hotel or hospital laundromats, with a strong understanding of laundry operations, equipment, and processes.
Laundry Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding machines. Ability to operate and troubleshoot these machines effectively.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in sorting, processing, ironing, and folding laundry items to maintain high quality and presentation standards.
Stain Removal Skills: Proficiency in identifying and treating various types of stains on different fabrics using appropriate stain removal techniques and products.
Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Safety and Hygiene Awareness: Knowledge of safety and hygiene protocols in a laundry setting, including proper chemical handling, use of PPE, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work area.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, report issues, and collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry heavy laundry items, and perform physically demanding tasks associated with laundry operations.
Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as required by the operational needs.
Professionalism: Professional demeanor, with a positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
**Salary**: R18,000.00 - R35,000.00 per month
