Group AS&R is accountable for:

- Leadership in driving our vision to become “mining leaders in plant & equipment life-cycle performance”
- Supporting sites to identify and implement integrated solutions that create, enhance and/or protect value.

**Job Description
- Purpose of the role**:
Set the standards, support sites and build operational competence to implement / maintain and continually improve our maintenance & asset management performance in the underground mining environement.

**Typical Task's**:

- Thought-leader, technical expert and first point of reference for leading practice and emerging technology to optimise operations & maintenance in the underground mining environment
- External monitoring of standards, best practices and technologies
- Maintain currency of the relevant sections of the AS&R Roadmap and supporting documents and tools as well as standards, guidelines, tactics and specifications
- Provide SME input to AS&R strategies, tactics, work-packages and task lists to ensure effective and efficient maintenance management for underground materials handling, fleet & infrastructure assets.
- Continual improvement strategies and initiatives for plant / equipment arising from best practice monitoring, AS&R Roadmap Assessments, assurance activities, investigations and work management processes - performance feedback, A&I and DE
- Monitor and review operational performance in underground mining related plant equipment across Group-wide operations
- Set and maintain the minimum guidelines for precision maintenance (e.g. specifications, tolerances) for fleet / fixed plant & infrastructure maintenance within the underground mining environment and create templates for assurance review processes
- Provide expertise in underground environment for incidents of significant asset/ reliability loss
- Visibly promote a positive SHEC culture and incorporate the current and future requirements for these into all activities
- Support hoisting, materials handling, fleet & infrastructure knowledge sharing within the underground mining area across the Group
- Support development of integrated systems and training to effectively implement and sustain performance in fixed / processing plant equipment

**Qualifications**:

- An undergraduate engineering qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.

A postgraduate qualification in asset management OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.
- Additional Information
- Experience in the operation & maintenance of fleet, fixed plant & infrastructure in the large scale mechanised mining environment. Experience within the hard rock sector is preferred.
- Experience with significant plant outages / rebuilds
- Experience within a large underground green or brownfields project
- Working within a technical support team providing assistance to operations
