Core Operational Technical Specialist who is an expert in Asset Management and Plant Maintenance, since the City of Cape Town has many large assets across several Directorates such as Water & Sanitation, Electricity, Transport etc. that need to be maintained; SAP AM and PM knowledge required; knowledge of other new technologies for Asset Management and Plant Maintenance is advantageous

**Responsibilities**:

- Bring leading practice knowledge and provide technical and business advisory services, in terms of the new to-be technology solutions that will be implemented as per the outcomes of the CAR tenders.
- This will include analysis, scoping, blueprinting, design and implementing of leading practices, policies, processes, procedures, technologies, systems and solutions.
- The objective is to establish more end-to-end digitally-enabled to-be Edge and Core solutions in response to the business needs of multiple organisation-wide stakeholders.
- The Technical Specialists / Architects, will be required to assist in writing the technical specifications and ultimately guide implementation of the to-be Solutions for the client, that should be based on Best Practices and Leading Solutions that are best-fit, ensuring full compliance to all Regulatory, Government, Public Sector requirements, ensuring excellent service delivery.

Deliverables:
a. Facilitating workshops with the business to collect business requirements

b. Bring best-practice / leading-practice thought leadership and knowledge that can be used to identify any potential gaps in terms of business requirements in each respective area

c. Document business requirements and identify and raise any gaps

d. Facilitate the close out of the business requirements and scope in each respective area

e. Develop the detailed technical specifications

f. Present the technical architecture and scope at various forums, including: Focus Groups, Working Groups, Technical Advisory Committees and Project Steering Committees

g. Identify any technical dependencies across other projects and any other dependencies / interdependencies e.g. integrations, security, infrastructure, data migration etc.

h. Collaborate with fellow technical architects and technical specialists to determine the best holistic approach regarding the solution design and technical architecture

i. Responsible to assist, support and collaborate with Tender & Contract Project Managers and the Delivery Project Managers, regarding project planning activities related to the tender phase and the project implementation phase

j. Responsible to assist with knowledge transfer and skills development within the team, with interns assigned to the projects, with peers in IS&T and the business who form part of the project Focus Groups and Working Groups, and the on-boarding of the successful Systems Implementer post-tender award.

k. Provide inputs for the implementation of change management activities and the transition for all stakeholders;
m. Risk management reporting and mitigation approaches;
n. All relevant stakeholder engagement presentations and reports in relevant templates, and

o. Effectively manage any resistance to change.
