Saica Audit Trainee

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
To provide an Accounting and Auditing service to clients. To start SAICA articles and gain experience as a Trainee Auditor, en-route to a CA qualification

**We seek an individual who is committed to the 3 full years it takes to complete your SAICA articles**
- **Duties & Responsibilities**:_

**1. Accounting**
- Initiates and effects journal entries including relevant calculations and presentation of supporting documentation.
- Oversees maintenance of general ledger and related accounting records.
- Reviews payments’ supporting documentation.
- Prepares cash flow information, all balance sheet and income statement reconciliations. (including creditors, debtors, bank, stock reconciliations, VAT, payroll)
- Maintains the fixed asset register and wear & tear registers.
- Assists with implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures.
- Performs job costing including variance analysis.
- Performs stock counts and reconciliation of variances.
- Assists with ad-hoc queries.

**2. Audit**
- Conducts full statutory audits on small to medium and large sized firms in the private sector and public sector.
- Prepares financial statements for Sole Traders, Partnerships, Private Companies, Close Corporations and Trusts and group consolidations.
- Calculates taxes payable by Individuals, Companies, Trusts.
- Advises clients on requested tax issues such as the treatment of Vat, Fringe benefits, dividend tax issues and research and development process.
- Liaises with the executive members of clients at the planning, during and concluding stages of an audit engagement.
- Drafts reports to management on internal control deficiencies, other audit findings and advises Management on the systems and process requiring improvement.
- Audits critical audit objectives including risk assessments, expenses, income, statutory, liabilities, assets and taxes.
- **Desired Experience & Qualification**:_

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB**:B.Com Accounting Degree (Accredited)
- Proficiency in Pastel, Excel and Caseware at intermediate level
- B.Com Degree - Completed
- CTA/PGDA registration and enrolment (Essential)
- Excellent in MS Office
- Pastel - intermediate
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent English
- Professionalism
- Valid driver’s license and own transport (Essential)
- No work experience required (Vacation work within auditing firms will be highly advantageous)
- **MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED**

**Salary**:

- CTC: R10,500.00. Deductions included in CTC are CAMAF medical aid and Discovery life/funeral cover.
