**Introduction**:
We are looking to recruit a permanent Finance Clerk to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at the Glen Lea branch in Roodepoort and will report to the Debtors Supervisor.

**Job description**:
**Job Purpose**:
The finance clerk is required to support the Finance Manager in the overall objectives of the Finance team. The roles is critical in ensuring that the finance team is able to service other business areas as well as provide valuable insight required by internal stakeholders to enable them to make correct informed decisions in directing the business.

**Key Performance Areas**:

- To provide accurate, complete, timely information weekly and monthly to enable, internal stakeholders to make business decisions.
- To provide necessary information to manage and maximize cash flow.
- To complete all required tasks within deadlines. To complete tasks with necessary skill and care to ensure the errors are minimized.
- To analyze and review trends of information at month end to ensure that information reported is reasonable and accurate.
- To support the Financial Manager with value added insight into financial matters.
- To manage your time so as to maximize time available to support Finance Manager and the team.
- To prepare GL and payment recons.

**Skills**:

- Strong Excel skills
- Communication Skills

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of pharmaceutical environment e.g. data fees.
- SAP
- Knowledge of customer invoicing, statements
- Knowledge of preparing payment recons.
- Reviewing GRN, invoices, delivery notes, statements etc. for missing information.
- Knowledge of VAT e.g. being able to identify when VAT is applicable.
- Knowledge of GL recons, bank recons and the preparation thereof.
- Knowledge of business processes applicable in a dispensary environment and attaching the relevance to finance.

**Minimum requirements**:
**Education and Qualification**:

- Matric
- Degree in Accounting

Minimum Experience:

- 3 to 5 years experience in a finance environment.
