**Job description**:
**MAIN PURPOSE**

To analyse, design and configure supply chain solutions to support the business in reducing its transport and overall supply chain costs whilst maintaining and improving customer service levels.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Identify continuous improvement opportunities within Supply Chain**
- Gathers data and conducts analysis with the goal of improving the organisation's supply chain.
- Identifies underperforming areas in the supply chain and suggests improvements or resolutions to problems.
- Understand and analyse Supply chain activities and levers with the view to improve these metrics.
- Continuously identify and highlight mechanisms to simplify and improve business processes.
- Ensure that Route course analysis is done around deviations from required KPI’s and required SLA’s.
- Working with team members to research and prototype possible solutions to meet business requirements.

**Implementation of improvement opportunities within the Supply Chain**
- Business case development and solution assessment for Projects and other new business or continuous improvement opportunities.
- Orchestration of implementation activities around new business or continuous improvement opportunities within the business.
- End to end solution delivery involving all required stakeholders between IT and the Supply chain teams.
- Conduct benchmarking.
- Providing a high-quality analysis resource to the Supply Chain Development team working across all Supply Chain projects.
- Bridging gap between problems cases and data, from multiple data inputs and systems.
- Provide structured and creative analysis to identify performance improvement opportunities and effectively communicate findings with stakeholders.

**Measure the effectiveness of the continuous opportunities after implementation**
- Analyse and track the benefits from continuous improvement opportunities in support of reducing transport and overall supply chain costs whilst maintaining or improving
stakeholder service levels for Woolworths.
- Communicate, workshop and present findings and recommendations.

**Integrate and represent LIC into rest of Supply Chain**
- Be a Supply chain change agent for all changes that need to be implemented in the Supply chain arena to improve value and profitability.
- Identifying and coordinating the implementation of technology for process automation.
- Understand and share with Supply chain teams Insights derived from data.
- Assist in coaching and training of users (super user).

**Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and process compliance**
- Assist with the development of risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.

- Knowledge and understanding of the Service Centre policies and procedures.
- Practical knowledge of the end-to-end distribution and warehouse processes.
- Assist in resolving concerns before escalation.
- Knowledge of the systems used within a Supply chain environment.
- Knowledge of relevant computer packages e.g., Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Is able to capture information and produce reports.
- Understands information presented mathematically at a complex level.
- Able to interpret mathematical information without the aid of practical illustrations.
- Logical and analytical thinker, able to translate ideas into practical business solutions.
- Collects and organises data for understanding fundamental issues.
- An ability to think abstractly and conceptualize the big picture (systems thinker).
- Identify probable causes of problems from the gathered information.

**Minimum requirements**:
**What theoretical knowledge (e.g., degree / diploma) does the job require?**
- Industrial Engineering B Degree or Logistics B Degree with Honours.
- Knowledge of the principles of optimisation and how optimisation is performed using software solutions
- Must possess good conceptual thinking skills for Business Analysis, Data Analysis, etc.
