A luxury villa in a unique destination along a remote and secluded part of the Eastern Cape. Situated on 2km of privately accessed beach front on a small game reserve of 275 hectares. The property is looking for a dynamic Lodge Manager to manage the villa and reserve.

Must have at least 5 years of management experience within the industry and top end establishments. Passion for nature and marine knowledge is essential. Villa offers unique land based experiences with rich and dynamic fauna and flora.

Remote experience, hands on and passionate about conservation, this role encompasses the management of the property demanding a unique blend of leadership, meticulous attention to detail, pro-active and willing to go the extra mile with a profound dedication to delivering unforgettable guest experiences. Strong work ethic required with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Willing to work in a remote area. One hour from East London.

**Qualifications**:

- Conservation or Wildlife Management degree is essential.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a equivalent position in a similar 5* bush/beach Lodge
- FGASA Level 2 essential and completed Lead Trails with VPDA
- First Aid, ARH and PrDP and rifle proficiency/SAPS Competency Certificate
- CATHSSETA /DEAT/NDT Registered
- In land skippers license
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and delegation skills
- Computer literate and ability to manage stock and equipment.
- Hands on approach and ability to handle pressure.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Maintenance measures
- schedule maintenance, preventative measures, knowledge and experience in how to do daily maintenance.
- Proficient maintenance skills for overseeing property requirements such as vehicles, road maintenance, bush maintenance, solar systems, fences, dams, etc.
- Building, equipment, vehicle and garden maintenance
- Maintaining the reserve and the wildlife including preventing poaching
- Creating a guided experience for guests and curating their experience with regards to activities.
- Leading activities such as, drives, bushwalks, marine walks, kayaking, fishing, surfing, sandboarding
- Well spoken, takes initiative and leads by example for the team
- Hosting experience essential
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent communication skills in English - Both written and spoken.
- Checking guests in / out, highly sociable and confident when meeting new people and able to entertain
- Laundry room stock takes
- Staff / HR - management of all staff; monthly wages; recording of leave; oversee all departments; staff discipline. Proven record of managing staff effectively and empathetically
- Guest centric, eye for detail and extremely high standards of service.
- Ability to anticipate guest needs and facilitate the small touches to enhance the guest experience.
- Regular inspections to keep the lodge immaculate.
- Monthly reporting to the owner on work done at the lodge and any points of interest.

- Housekeeping and F&B departments are running at the standard required; events management; cost management
- Liaise with the non-resident owners, keeping them informed of all events on the reserve.
