5 years post qualification as a Fitter and Turner artisan in a production / manufacturing environment would be a minimum requirement for this role. Incumbent would need to have experience managing / overseeing a team of artisans. Knowledge with regards to CNC machine tools would be advantageous.

**Working knowledge of following essential**:

- Hydraulic systems - fault finding and repairs
- Pneumatic systems - fault finding and repairs
- Cooling and water reticulation systems - including Heat Exchangers, Cooling Towers, pipes and pumps
- Actuators, Cylinders, Valves, Gear boxes, Bearings, Drive train and transmission systems
- CNC Machine tools - repairs and fault finding (Advantageous)
- Conventional machine turning and milling
- Lifting equipment

**Professional / Tertiary qualification**:

- Grade 12 or a Technical N2 / N3
- Qualified Artisan - Fitter and Turner
- Certificate in Hydraulics
- Certificate in Pneumatics (Advantageous)
