Starke Ayers: Picker Packer

Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties - both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a Picker Packer, based in Epping, Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to pick stock and make up customer orders as per customer invoice and prepare same for despatch as per customer requirements.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Picks products and makes up orders as per customer order and transfers them to the holding area for checking.
- Ensures that correct seed reference numbers are picked and report all incorrect reference numbers to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Advises Warehouse Supervisor if certain items are out of stock and awaits further instructions.
- Ensures that all items picked are in a clean and saleable condition and meet laid down quality standards with regard to packaging, labelling, outer appearance and neatness.
- Follows stock rotation procedure, FIFO (first in first out), as per Warehouse Supervisor instructions when picking order.
- Assists with the bi-annual as well as ad hoc stock counts/checks as per Warehouse Supervisor instruction.
- Assists fellow workers with execution of tasks whenever own responsibilities have been executed and completed.
- Ensures that work area/s are neat, tidy, organised and clean at all times.
- Assists with and adheres to security measures to ensure the safety of products, assets and facility.
- Assist with the Invoicing of Customer Orders
- Assist walk in Customers with Product Information
- Performs any other task related to his/her work environment when requested to do so by the Warehouse Supervisor.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
- Warehouse administrative experience (6 months) (preferential)
