**STUDENT TUTOR** **/EAST LONDON **- The core focus of the role is to provide supplementary teaching and learning support to students and module lecturers.

**Essential work experience and Minimum requirements**

Minimum 3-year Degree in the discipline associated with the role

An Honours degree or Postgraduate teaching qualification will be advantageous

Minimum 2 years’ experience in student tutoring or coaching at a recognised institution

Familiarity with the Academic discourse within the requisite field and related disciplines

Proficiency in the facilitation of learning, using learning management systems, such as moodle, Blackboard etc.

Must be highly competent in Excel spreadsheets, Presentations, Word Processing etc.

Basic data manipulation skills and presentation skills

Proficient in utilising Social media and internet based platforms to support student learning

Proficient in the use of LMS and institutional ICT Systems

Competent in the use of digital authorizing tools, such as articulate

**Functional Accountability**:
**Teaching and Learning**

Provide supplementary teaching and learning support to module lecturers and students

Execute engagement activities and campaigns to encourage student participation on the Institutional LMS

Mark formative and summative assessments, under the guidance of the module lecturer

Collaborate with the module lecturer and Head of school to identify and support students at risk

**Research and Reporting**

Contribute to the expansion of programmes in the faculty

Report to the module lecturer and Head of School all student related issues

**Competencies required**:

Willingness to learn and innovative way of thinking

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent command of the English language
