This position requires strong operational skills to assess / analyse situations, plan and delegate operational matters to ensure business needs and operational requirements are met. Further, this position also requires strong leadership skills with good interpersonal skills.

**Minimum Requirements**:
A formal Qualification (NDIP, BTECH or other) with a major in microbiology
Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in Laboratory Operations Management in a fast-paced commercial ISO 17025 Accredited laboratory with high sample and test volumes
Must have experience managing a team of analysts
More than 8 years technical / bench experience in an ISO17025 Accredited Micro Laboratory
Solid analytical abilities are key for this role.
This position will suit an individual with a high level of independence and that can take initiative, who is able to effectively plan, execute and / or delegate tasks.
Embraces a team culture and collaborates well with others.
Excellent communication skills are required.
Own transport required

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Leading and managing daily laboratory operational activities which include the optimal use of resources (personnel, equipment, consumables, planning and facilities)
Ensuring quality requirements are met, that costs are under control and client expectations are met.
Providing leadership and guidance to laboratory personnel with regards to: operational plans to improve quality, costs and services to customers.
You will also be expected to lead the operational performance of the laboratory to achieve business and operational goals.
Manage the successful integration of new clients and business opportunities into the laboratory processes assuring limited interruption to regular ongoing operations.
Work with various stakeholders / departments to assist with queries and facilitate teamwork between staff and various departments.
General housekeeping - ensuring the cleanliness of operational areas and organizational practices are applied by laboratory personnel.
