Our client, one of Africa’s leading renewable energy companies, is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor, who will provide legal assistance to the General Counsel on legal and corporate secretarial matters relating to the Group.

**Responsibilities**:

- Involved in providing advice and supporting all legal activities in the life cycle of the projects undertaken by the Group, which includes, development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects in Africa.
- Various legal activities will be carried out in order to fulfil this role, for example: due diligence, bid interpretation and support, negotiation of term sheets, development agreements and corporate, finance and construction agreements.
- To support the day-to day legal needs of all the heads of department in the Company.
- To support the corporate finance department, by maintaining all legal records of the Group in accordance with the applicable law and internal requirements.
- This includes ensuring that the Group complies with internal delegations of authority; all corporate acts performed by the Group are in accordance with the procedures required by the Companies Act; the appropriate resolutions are passed by the relevant entity in the Group and the corporate records are appropriately filed and maintained.
- Provide general day to day support to the General Counsel in managing the legal and corporate affairs of the Group.
- Attending to ad-hoc instructions relating to the legal department, provide primary support in relation to administrative matters pertinent to the legal department, including any litigation matters that may arise or non-disclosure agreements that may be required.
- Maintain and update the internal records of projects and activities undertaken by the Group and be able to provide feedback / reports to the relevant entity in the Group as and when required.
- Liaise with external advisors, service providers, consultants, and agents appointed to assist in implementing the objectives of the Group.
- Stay up to date with applicable industry matters in relation to the organisations project activities.
- Contribute generally to the overall efficiency of the legal department.

**Requirements**:Qualification and Skill**_ _**
- A least 5 - 10 years post articles commercial/transactional legal experience obtained preferably within (i) the energy or infrastructure team of a law firm, or (ii) a corporate involved in energy or infrastructure or (iii) the energy or infrastructure department of a financial institution.
- Must have an LLB Degree
- Must be a Qualified Attorney
- Experience on international or regional projects will be at an added advantage.
- Exposure to the renewable energy sector will be an added advantage.
