**Job Description**:
We are looking for a Dynamic, Self-motivated Leader to take on the role of** SHEQ Manager **at an established and well-known player in the Waste & Transport management sector.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Facilitate the risk assessments for the operation as well as reviews and ensure the compilation of the operational risk register, development of risk treatment plans to reduce exposure and ensure SHEQ mitigation measures are implemented.
- Update, and implement core procedures and support the development and implementation of Safety, Health, Quality & Environmental management systems to ensure an optimally safe workplace for employees, as well as reducing the impacts of operations on the working environment.
- Maintain an emergency evacuation plan as well as the review and testing thereof.
- Implementation of appropriate standards in accordance with best practice to effectively manage Safety, Health, Environment and Quality aspects in an integrated and holistic manner.
- Research and benchmark continuously to ensure best practice methodologies are implemented.
- Liaise through formal and informal contact with external stakeholders and regulatory structures to inform, co-ordinate and obtain input into relevant Company strategies and initiatives Analyse Operational projects in terms of SHEQ and other risks and assist with obtaining legislation required approvals.
- Maintaining legal compliance at all times is a priority monitored through a comprehensive internal audit assurance matrix.
- Implement and manage an Incident Reporting system and collate statistical information in order to address the root causes focusing on preventing reoccurrence.
- Translate broad policy statements and decisions made by Managers and General Managers into plans and procedures as applicable, by considering all implications and possibilities. Implement these plans and procedures.
- Manage personnel by continuous and periodic performance appraisal; coaching; training needs assessment and detailed training plans.
- Management of all external audits and maintaining Star Rating certificates.
- Compile management reports on a monthly process.
- Ensure effective contractor management to ensure they comply with safety procedures
- perform ad hoc duties as instructed by the relevant Directors.

- Proven successful experience in a similar role
- Must live close to Ballito/Salt Rock
- Must be a Loyal team player
