CROP PROTECTION AND MARKET ACCESS SPECIALIST
Ceres Fruit Growers, one of the leading fruit packaging and marketing companies in SA, has the above position available for an energetic and professional individual to join their team at their Ceres (Western Cape) offices.
The incumbent will report directly to the Manager: Producer Services and be part of adynamic team that aims to maximise producers' revenue potential.
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): *management of pest control protocol and MRL’s *liaison with growers on pest control protocol and MRL constraints of different markets/customers*cooperation with chemical representatives and industry bodies regarding compliance with market residue requirements *conducting physical orchard inspections and providing support to growers *collection, interpretation and communication of spray programs and MRL results to clients in collaboration with chemical consultants *handling administration and enquiries relating to customer needs in line with legal requirements.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

- Tertiary qualification in Agricultural Sciences;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar work environment with excellent fruit knowledge;
- Excellent interpersonal skills (Afrikaans and English);
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, specifically Excel);
- Valid driver's license and reliable own transport.

Advantageous:

- Experience in Entomology or Horticulture within the pome fruit Industry;
- Successful completion of AVCASA training.

Die posbekleër sal direk aan die Bestuurder: Produsente Dienste rapporteer en deel wees van ‘n dinamiese span wat produsente se inkomstepotensiaal maksimeer.
Verantwoordelikhede sal die volgende insluit: *bestuur van plaagbeheer protokol en MRL’e *skakeling met produsente oor plaagbeheer protokol en MRL beperkinge van verskillendemarkte/ kliënte *samewerking met chemiese verteenwoordigers en bedryfsinstansies t.o.v. nakoming van markresidu vereistes *uitvoering van fisiese boordinspeksies en ondersteuning aan produsente *insameling, interpretasie en kommunikasie van spuitprogramme en MRL resultate aan kliënte in samewerking met chemiese konsultante *hantering van administrasie en navrae met betrekking tot kliënte behoeftes in lyn met wetlike vereistes.
Nadat die kandidaat suksesvol by die span ingeskakel het kan die volgende moontlik deel word van die take: *koördinering van toegekende produksie eenhede i.t.v. vrugspesifikasies, poelkeuses, en boordvoorbereidingstrategieë *adviseer produsente t.o.v markbehoeftes en met die opstel van spuitprogramme in samewerking met chemiese konsultante.
Noodsaaklike kwalifikasies, vaardighede en ervaring:

- Naskoolse kwalifikasie in Landbou Wetenskappe;
- Minimum 3 jaar ondervinding in ‘n soortgelyke werksomgewing met uitstekende vrugkennis;
- Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede (Afrikaans en Engels);
- Goeie rekenaargeletterdheid (MS Office, spesifiek Excel);
- Geldige bestuurderslisensie en eie betroubare vervoer.

Voordelig:

- Ondervinding in Entomologie of Hortologie binne die kernvrug bedryf;
- Suksesvolle voltooiing van AVCASA opleiding.

In ooreenstemming met CFG se Beleid op Gelyke Indiensneming, sal toepaslike gekwalifiseerde persone vanuit die geïdentifiseerde groepe voorkeur ontvang.
