Responsible for identifying and executing on continuous improvement opportunities, reporting and updating the knowledge management system. Oversees and conducts the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions, with a specific focus on the Network Planning & Placement function by providing Specialised GIS analytics support to facilitate & inform Network Planning decisions regarding the Physical Absa branch & ATM network as well as Customer Insights creation through analytical profiling and reporting of the existing Absa customer base to inform strategic decision making. Works directly with stakeholders within the assigned departments. The MI/BI Analyst will have to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, prioritize work, and remain functional under pressure, and aggressive timelines. Skilled in data analysis and programming, assisting the business to use the data they collect to understand trends, solve business problems, and monitor metrics. They assist with determining the data the company needs, structuring it in an appropriate format, analyzing the data using queries, and creating reports and visualizations for company decision-makers. To manipulate and prepare data for evaluation and reporting purposes, build data marts for different business users to view and use for analysis and decision making. To support and enhance intellectual business performance modelling and create measures that drive an optimal value management strategy. To enhance information in order to support optimal decision making.

**Job Description**:
Key accountabilities

Develop GIS solutions for business stakeholders

Consult with business stakeholders to confirm the objectives and desired deliverable. Identify the GIS component in the business objectives and break general objectives down in specific goals. Determine the appropriate data fields to incorporate into the GIS Analysis Solution (ESRI/ARCGis).Plan your approach to the analysis you are embarking on - consult with business stakeholders and agree on a method or type of analysis to be conducted with the end result focusing on analysis, data interpretation, conclusions and appropriate recommendations. This might include designing relevant questionnaire / surveys to ensure any additional required data analysis.

Calculate the final weightings to each spatial component (suburb, town, erf, etc). Determine weighting threshold by data inspection and apply. Agree with Business Stakeholder on granularity of maps to be drawn. Draw maps that depict the work that has just be done, for presentation purposes.

Prepare, organise, analyse relevant information for deep dive analyses, or ad hoc analysis in a professional format (either PowerPoint and / or pivot tables / business case format) for the business stakeholder to consume the results in an understandable format when business decisions are required regarding new infrastructure and relocations, up
- and down-grades, closures and revamps of existing infrastructure. Ensure that analytic insights are documented and provided in consistent format reports.

This includes visual Mapping outcomes in a professional / standardised format to stakeholders, with the appropriate data models and trends. Ensure completeness, accuracy and integrity of completed deliverable.

Prepare a Meta-data documentation on the GIS method that is used, data variable that formed part of the analysis and weightings that are applied and how they were derived.

Education and Experience Required
- NQF Level 6: B Degree (e.g. B.Sc Geo-informatics)
- Relevant post
- graduate qualification (technical or commercial Financial Certification preferably within the Geographical Information Systems)
- Two (2) years’ experience in working within the GIS & infrastructure decision support business and other banking products and services.

Knowledge & Skills: (Maximum of 6)
- Working knowledge of the Branch & Self Service Channels environment
