**Introduction**
Our FMCG manufacturing client, based in Westmead, is looking for an experienced SHER Manager to join their team.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
Lead and manage the identifying and evaluating the risks and impacts arising from hazards and aspects and assessing the effectiveness of the controls in place, in order to control or reduce risks.
Ensure legal compliance with all relevant Health and Safety Acts and legislations through implementing and maintaining standards and procedures ongoing training, coaching, and assessment evaluating and improving SOPs as needed.
Implement and update internal audits and manage external audit processes.
Manages, co-ordinates and administers all specialised disposing and recycling operations.
Set up and monitor Environmental KPI’s.
Co-ordinate all medicals for entry, exit and annual medicals for all staff as well as students, contractors, etc. onsite.
Maintain incident reporting system, managing investigations and analysis of incidents.
Submit and manage the COID Applications
Ensures incidents are thoroughly investigated with written reports.
Oversea access control system.
Manage all security operations (seal management, sobriety programme, employee release, gate pass, etc).
Assist to Chair monthly Health and Safety and Environmental committee meetings.
Design and implement effective emergency response procedures that meet and exceed the minimum legal requirements.
Support and maintain a Crisis Management process that will assist in the speedy recovery of operations.
Ensure all processes, activities, equipment and facilities are assessed for hazards and risks.
Provide ongoing safety training.
To review the SHER Management system to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness.
Manage customer audits and corrective actions (internal) and external audits such as SMETA, SWA, SAQ, ESSH, etc).
**Desired Experience & Qualification**
BSC. Bachelor of Science Degree (or similar), major or equivalent in Health and Safety, Environment, Risk and Quality.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a SHER Manager role.
Sound experience in risk management principles, SHER/Security policies, legislation, and procedures.
The following qualifications would be an advantage:
Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14000, 45000 and 22000.
SAMTRAC/SHE MTech or Nebosh Qualification.
HIRA
Incident investigation level 3
Spillage response qualification
COIDA and legal liability qualification
SACPCMP Registered
ISO internal Auditor
