Trainer (2) - 1 Permanent ; 1 Temporary

Position Overview

The position will report to the Regional Learning and Development Manager. The Learning and Development Supervisor has responsibility for training delivery, impact, and measurement in his/her area of responsibility and/or sub-region. The role partners with various stakeholders, including management, employees, supervisors, and unions to deliver optimal learning and development initiatives, which impact the overall success of the organization. The role will have a team of trainers, and administrators reporting into it.

Primary Responsibilities

Training
- Facilitation of training, including operational, leadership, soft skills training, among other interventions
- Track and analyze effectiveness of training programs and impact on the job
- Conducting training needs analysis and identifying employee's training needs.
- Develop and update training materials to reflect needs at operational level and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with planning and implementation of new training programs in line with best practice and business requirements.
- Conduct practical and theoretical training and ensure course content is relevant and meets the needs of learners. Ensure all planning is in line with production schedules.
- Delivers various learning interventions, including classroom, one-on-one coaching, on-the-job training, and one-on-one assessment.
- Coach and Mentor learners within the business.
- Contribute towards organizational legal compliance to relevant legislation e.g., Skills Development Act.

Auditing
- Conduct competency audits for departmental training.
- Conduct ad hoc audits on equipment operators to ensure that the operators' skills are at the right level and highlight opportunities for improvement with respective managers.

Safe and Healthy Work Environment
- Ensure all safety procedures and practices are adhered to during the training process.
- Promote Good housekeeping practices and account for safety.
- Contribute towards a high performing culture and engaged workforce.
- Ensure a zero-harm work environment for all.

Customer Service and Relationships
- Maintain trusted partnerships between learning and development and internal/external customers.

Learning and Growth
- Participate and contribute towards in full cycle of talent management
- Conduct assessments following training interventions and measure skills proficiency
- Maintain accurate and current training records
- Promote a culture of learning within the organization
- Provide information and advice regarding skills development related issues.

Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 \ N3 Certificate (mandatory)
- Diploma in Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices OD ETDP (mandatory)
- National Certificate in a relevant Technical Qualification (Mineral Processing/ Engineering Metal Production/ Mining (mandatory)
- BCom or BA degree with specialization in Human Resources would be a strong advantage
- Engineering degree or diploma would be a strong advantage
- Drivers' License (mandatory)
- Computer Literacy in Microsoft and related packages (mandatory)
- Learning Management System experience (SAP/SuccessFactors or other system(s)
- 5-10 years' Relevant experience within a heavy Industry/ Mining/ Production Environ
