On-air Graphics Operator

As an On-Air Graphics Operator you would be responsible for operating and flighting created graphics in on-air or live production and pre-recorded environments. Ensuring that all graphic elements are free from spelling errors.

**Technical Operations**

Perform an equipment test at the beginning of day/shift. (Restart or connect all services required).

Run on air tests when required.

Check for spelling errors on graphics, all full screens, CGs and lower third straps.

Ensure the correct rundown is loaded and tests of all rundown elements are done prior to any bulletin going on air or being recorded.

Ensure that the correct show graphics and elements are loaded for each show.

Ensure all graphics are in the correct format prior to going on air.

Liaise with editorial team when there are changes to be made to graphics before taking it to air.

Liaise closely with the Technical Director and Vision Mixer on show requirements to activate backgrounds, split screens, and keys such as clock and channel logo.

Create on screen graphics and sequences for outside broadcasts.

Input data (charts/graphs and any graphical requests) in the approved templates for every production at the required standard.

Operate graphic play-out computers during live and pre-recorded programs.

Build animations using template driven computer graphics.

Edit graphics at the request of the editorial team.

Ensure the graphics correspond with the script provided.

Type in all titles, supers, and credits.

**Qualifications**

National Diploma inGraphic Design/ Broadcast

**Experience**

2 years in Graphics Production in Live/On-Air environment

**Language**

English - Advanced

**Technology Proficiency**

MS Office Suite - Basic

**Technical / Job Specific Competencies**
