Coordination and conducting of safety meetings
- Conducting risk assessments within the area of responsibility
- Conduct planned task observations
- Conducts accidents and incidents investigations and implement the remedial actions.
- Implement safety standards, procedures, fatal risk protocols and codes of practice (COPs)
- Ensuring that all employees are competent and trained to do work safely
- Implement and monitor maintenance of equipment to the required maintenance strategies
- Monitor the implementation of and adherence to operating and maintenance procedures
- Monitor the equipment performance (trend analysis and rectify deviations)
- Scheduling of hoisting ore types
- Conduct at least monthly shaft examination and make recommendations based on maintenance requirements.
- Control of shaft/station systems to ensure shift control
- Planned maintenance to ensure equipment/ system functionality
- Recommend re-design of systems to improve the maintenance strategy and safety
- Implement and manage projects for continuous improvement
- Ensure efficient utilisation of resources to fulfil maintenance strategy requirements
- Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of resources
- Analyse system reports so as to improve the equipment performance
- Provide coaching and on-the-job training to reporting staff.
- Development and maintenance of individual development plans for reporting staff.
- NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate) or N3 in Engineering studies
- Onsetters Certificate
- Blasting Certificate for scheduled mines
- At least 5 years experience, preferably 2 years in a supervisory role
- Ability to communicate with people on different levels
- Valid Certificate of physical fitness
- Drivers license
