Skill Set
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism/media/corporate communications/English/PR or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience working in publishing or a similar media environment
- Excellent understanding of digital publishing
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- A passion and flair for writing engaging headlines and producing compelling content.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Knowledge of Industrial and Manufacturing Sector across vertical market mainly Cape Regions
- Work independently and integrate into an experienced team.
- Work under deadline driven pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Staying abreast with current news affairs on a National and Local Level
- Identify sectors which are driving the economic growth & development within the Western Cape Regions
- Identify key growth sectors
- Research & development of companies to be interviewed that are leaders in their sectors
- Communicate with C level executives, thought leaders and governmental organisations and or officials
- Proficient in the use of social media platforms - LinkedIn Twitter and Facebook
- Efficient in Microsoft office & Google G suite for Systems Operating processes
- Ability to utilise in house CRM systems for client engagement
- Efficient in using Teams and Zoom meeting platforms for interviews
- Confident and presentable to chair or moderate discussions at live events
- Be a Team player

Duties & Responsibilities
- Compile content for Cape Business News monthly publication
- Managing and filtering content received from external contributors into relevant features
- Editing article content to be publishing ready in line with our editorial style
- Read page proofs with care and make corrections
- Sourcing and writing New news content
- Able to interview stakeholders and write up relevant articles meeting tight deadlines
- Updating feature briefs keeping them current
- Willing to travel to events to conduct interviews | engage with stakeholders
- Ensure that articles are fact checked - no false claims - especially concerning certifications and accreditation.
- Adhere to internal turnaround times and systems operating process
- Adhere to internal tracking systems for interview request utilising cloud based systems /SOP
- Adhering to the style guidelines.
- Proof reading content for digital publication
- Work under the authority of the Publisher and Managing Editor
- Work closely with the Digital Production Manager
- Ensure content is fresh news sector related and not republished or old news
- Report to Publisher on Weekly activity
- Engage with Associated Partners to drive publication distribution along with the publisher
- Hands on approach with the publishing of CBN Digital Daily News and social media platforms
- Ability to engage across CBN social media platforms
- Maintain a professional approach at all times
- Able to travel nationally on occasion and attend expos ,events or client launches engage with stakeholders
- Work out of normal working ours when on deadline or attending functions

**Salary**: R360,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Milnerton, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

- Bachelors (preferred)
