Optician

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. Duties: - Assist patients in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses - Take accurate measurements of the patient's eyes and facial features - Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists - Adjust and repair eyewear as needed - Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance - Assist with frame selection and styling based on the patient's preferences and facial features - Collaborate with the optical team to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient service - Maintain accurate records of patient information, orders, and transactions Requirements: - Previous experience as an Optician is preferred - Strong knowledge of optical concepts, including lens materials, coatings, and frame styles - Proficiency in using optical equipment for measurements and adjustments - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues - Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately interpret prescriptions - Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Epic) is a plus - Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye is beneficial - Sales experience in the optical industry or retail management is desirable We offer competitive compensation based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Pay: R35,00 - R80,00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 60 per week

- Diploma (preferred)

**Experience**:

- sales: 2 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

- Dispensing license (preferred)
