Handyman

**Job Purpose**:
**Job Objectives**:

- Installation inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building fixtures and fittings (general painting and decoration)
- Check for any maintenance of desk, chairs, doors, electrical fittings, plumbing, couches, fridges, aircon vents, partitions, lockers ETC. (Shifting of desk, tables, chairs, couches, lockers (All Furniture)
- General plumbing including washers, taps, unblocking toilets, unblocking stacks, installing new sinks, urinals, toilets & pipework. (copper or PVC)
- Flooring work such as carpet, general tiling - floors and walls
- Regularly inspecting garden structures and undertaking minor repairs or advising Line Manager of any need to replace/rebuild
- General carpentry such as assembling and maintaining furniture, replacing handles and similar hardware.
- Identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health & safety standards.
- Liaising with Line Manager and other team members around performing jobs as and when they are required.
- Carry out planned tasks in accordance with contract requirements and tasks within specified time limits.
- Ensure compliance to applicable codes, legislation and procedures including health & safety.
- Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work.
- Adhere to all organization policies and procedures
- Filling in daily task sheet as well as arranging stock, tools, and ensure equipment is safely and neatly kept.
- Storeroom to be cleaned / assessed and stock sheet to be updated weekly.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 level qualification
- Previous maintenance experience is mandatory (painting, basic electrical knowledge, tiling, basic plumbing).
- Planning and organisational skills (manage resources, good time management)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From R6,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- High School (matric) (preferred)

**Experience**:

- maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
