Fibre Optic Manager

An exciting opportunity is available at **Bilionetworks**, an ICT company, operating in the fibre, LAN cabling and alternative energy space, situated in Parklands, Tableview for a Fibre Optic Manager.We are looking for a dedicated individual who will distinguish herself or himself as a solution centred resource. **Minimum Qualifications & Requirements**
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- No criminal record.
- Sober habits and good time keeping.
- Proven experience in managing fibre optic teams and overseeing fibre optic projects.
- Be able to work on Fast Reporter and interpret OTDR test results to provide reports.
- Fast learner in all aspects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to deal with conflict and irate clients.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular office hours and be available for standby duties.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to working in manholes and challenging environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
- FOA Certified.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and manage a team of Technicians and liaise with clients and consulting engineers responsible for fibre optic installations, repairs and maintenance.
- Plan, coordinate and schedule the deployment of fibre optic projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure the client’s specifications are always adhered to, and ensure that if there are any changes, it must be documented and filed.
- Strong administrative skills to file all necessary documentation.
- Conduct site surveys and identify all necessary documents.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, client's engineers, local municipalities and internal teams, to ensure seamless coordination and smooth project execution.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during all fibre optic activities, including working in manholes and in adverse weather conditions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, resolving any technical issues or escalations that may arise during project implementation. Be able to splice and test and be involved with onsite activities.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the fibre optic team.
- Keep stakeholders informed about project progress, milestones and any potential issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
- Provide accurate reporting and keep up to date with all site activities.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies and regulatory changes related to fibre optic networks.
- Be available for standby duties and be willing to put in additional working hours as necessary to meet project deadlines or address urgent situations such as breaks in the network.
- Work systematically and document all findings.
