Solar Installer

As a Solar Installer, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems. You will work as part of a team to ensure the efficient and safe installation of solar panels and related equipment. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for renewable energy.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Solar Equipment Installation**: As a solar installer your main responsibility would be the installation of solar panels, inverters, mounting systems, batteries and other components according to project plans, applicable codes and safety standards.
- **Electrical Wiring**: Installing all wire ways and cables for the AC and DC wiring, termination of all equipment ensuring proper termination and adherence to electrical codes and regulations.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on solar energy systems to ensure optimal performance.
- **Safety Compliance**: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of the installation, including but not limited to test reports for each component of the installation. Liaise with Technical Manager to review project plans and drawings and ensure that the project is built according to design.
- **Customer Interaction**: Interact professionally with customers, addressing their questions and concerns while providing excellent service.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with fellow installers, electricians, and project managers to ensure project success and timely completion.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum N4 in Electrical Engineering, with knowledge of local electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for solar installations.
- Trade Tested QCTO Red Seal Electrician Certification in the Republic of South Africa, or working towards the completion thereof.
- Previous experience in solar panel installation or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring principles and the ability to read drawing.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving history.

**Salary**: R8 500,00 - R14 000,00 per month
