Our state-of-the-art Customisation facility has been built as part of our Distribution Centre in Johannesburg using world class technology and is geared to serve our customers with high quality customised garments, quickly and efficiently. The customisation facility consists of embroidery, screen printing, digital printing, taping and alterations. The constant drive for innovation ensures a solution-driven, team approach with a core focus on providing our customers with excellent quality and exceptional products.

The Sewing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the customisation of our quality products that meet or exceed customers delivery and quality expectations, through appropriate planning of work schedules, leading by example, organising the efficient use of resources, and controlling variables using relevant techniques and standard operating procedures.

**The main responsibilities of the role include**:

- Managing all administrative requirements within the team, updating the daily score spreadsheet and assisting with queries.
- Overseeing and updating the branding workflow on a daily basis and prioritising accordingly.
- Leading the sewing operators through assisting with taping, sewing and all other alterations required.
- Ensuring all machines are well maintained and clean at all times.
- Constantly seek to improve service levels of the sewing department.
- Manage, control and report all Health and Safety, Maintenance and Security defects.
- Working closely with the broader Customisation team.
- Manage and control the entire department ensuring the schedules, custom packaging and bottle necks are controlled for the smooth flow of product through to putaway.
- Proactively deal with team members or operational issues and escalate to the Customisation Leader, where appropriate.
- Work to tight deadlines in a demanding, customer driven environment.

**The experience we’re looking for**:

- Has proven experience in leading a high-performance sewing team.
- Extensive Clothing or têxtiles’ sector experience.
- Has led teams of approximately 10 - 20 team members.
- Computer Literate using MS Office (including very good Excel).
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Is fluent in both spoken and written English.
