Sales Assistant

_**Purpose of Sales Assistant in Tools/Powertools**_: The purpose of this job is to assist customers by helping them choose a product that is best suitable for whatever need the customer has and in such a manner that customer satisfaction is achieved, resulting in generating sales and promoting the business therefore creating sustainable growth in margins and profits.

**Main duties**
- Attend to customers in a professional and helpful manner
- Generate sales, ensure customer satisfaction, by providing excellent customer service
- Control stock levels and doing regular stock count
- Determine customer requirements and advising on products, price, delivery, warranties as well as product use and care.
- Advise customers with regards to range of products, which product would be best; in order to satisfy the customers’ needs
- Place stock orders with buyers if necessary
- Assist with the ongoing management of stock such as product inventories and participating in stock takes
- Attend to relevant admin tasks including up-keep of customer book, special orders file, forwarding of invoices and other relevant paperwork
- Ensure merchandising is done according to company’s merchandising standards and that the products are priced correctly

**Requirements**:

- MUST have a Matric Certificate (Gr.12) OR equivalent NQF 4 certification (Attach Copy)
- MUST have a minimum of 3 Product training Certificate’s - (Attach copies)
- MUST have a minimum of 3+ years’ proven experience as a Merchandiser (tested)
- Have basic Tools / Powertools product knowledge (Ryobi / Makita / Ingco / Total / Bosch)
- Possess intermediate Sales Techniques
- Ability to read, write and count.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Speak at least two languages (English is compulsory).
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
