**The job function**
- Calculating all payable hours, commissions, bonuses, and deductions in line with the company and bargaining council requirements.
- Managing electronic timekeeping systems or manually collecting and reviewing timesheets.
- Ensuring employee records are accurate and kept up to date on the system.
- Ensuring compliance with all legislative payroll requirements.
- Investigate all payroll queries and provide line managers with a timely response.
- Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll-related matters.
- Stay abreast with legislative changes as and when they are updated.
- Prepare all payroll reports for weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as the Collective Agreement.
- Ensure the payroll is reviewed and authorised by the relevant Director/General Manager before release.
- Ensure employee's pay slips are submitted on time.
- Ensure filing of all payroll documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Experience, knowledge & qualifications.
- Proven work experience as a Payroll Administrator.
- A degree/diploma in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
- 5 - 8 Years of payroll experience in Sage VIP Premier or equivalent in a large payroll department
- Thorough knowledge of labour legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills are essential
