**About our client**:
Established in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1990. For 27 years, our client has specialised in the supply and maintenance of bulk material handling equipment for your packaging, palletising, material handling, and material flow needs. They are the exclusive agent for the following renowned companies: Beumer, M-tec, Wieland, Korfez, Gebr, Pfeiffer, Trioplast, and Zeppelin for Southern Africa.

The Mechanical Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment within their organisation.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Maintenance and Repair**: Perform routine maintenance tasks and repair mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and minimise downtime.
- **Troubleshooting**: Diagnose mechanical issues using a variety of tools and techniques and develop effective solutions to address problems in a timely manner.
- **Installation and Setup**: Assist with the installation, setup, and calibration of new machinery and equipment according to specifications and safety standards.
- **Inspections and Testing**: Conduct regular inspections and testing of mechanical systems to identify potential issues or areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance, and generate reports as required.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repair tasks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with other team members, including engineers, supervisors, and operators, to coordinate maintenance activities and address mechanical issues effectively.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
- Valid Drivers License
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role, with hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and repair.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following established safety protocols.

**Salary**: R10 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
