**Job Advert Summary**:
The successful applicant will ensure the metering and online instruments systems functions interrupted, displaying real time accurate water quality status for management information and decisions. Maintain reliable information for operational purpose and consistent customer satisfaction. Coordination of projects with a drive to improve quality and continuous improvement within the project constraints. Ability to solve metering/online instruments problems quickly and effectively to minimize system down time and possible discrepancies in water quality information.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- N6 certificate in Instrumentation Engineering combined with a recognized trade test or National Diploma/National Higher Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering
- Five years metering or online instrument experience
- Two years’ experience in the water or metrological environment is desirable
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- A valid Code B driver’s license and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test.

**Primary Duties**:

- To be responsible for maintaining metering and online instruments equipment effectively.
- Procuring reliable equipment and spares.
- Take technical decisions relating to metering and online instrument with the consultation of specialists
- Maintain reliable information for operational purpose and consistent customer satisfaction.
- Coordination of projects with a drive to improve quality and continuous improvement within the project constraints.
- Ability to solve metering/online instrument problems quickly and effectively to minimize system down time and possible discrepancies in water quality information.

**Knowledge**:

- PLC programming, SCADA systems and network
- Advance online or metering instrumentation design principles
- Relevant legislation and regulations
- Preferred knowledge of ISO standards
- Good online/metering instrument equipment selection
- Principles of measurement

- Ability to read and analyse complex electrical design drawings
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
