Our client is in the shipbuilding industry and you will be responsible for managing the purchasing and the timeous supply of quality internationally sourced hardware / items for the Production Department

**Tasks**:

- Liaises with Technical Coordinators and Project Managers for identification of Hardware required and dates required.
- Sources and effectively and successfully negotiates high value purchases with foreign based suppliers.
- Provides regular feedback to Technical Coordinators and Project Managers on status of order.
- Ensures Technical Coordinators and Project Managers are informed immediately should there be a problem with supply.
- Decides on and arranges the appropriate and most effective logistics system for transportation (eg, Air, sea, courier multimodal system).
- Monitors delivery dates and tracks delivery ensuring the internal Master Order tracking file is up to date and displaying real time data.
- Follows up with Suppliers to ensure readiness dates are observed and complied with.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITY**:
**Manages Supplier Payment and Communications.**

**Tasks**:

- Confirms orders and requests invoices.
- Processes payment and follows up to ensure the correct documentation is received and filed for record keeping purposes.
- Ensures foreign currency calculations are up to date and managed effectively.
- Assists in providing required documentation for payment and auditing purposes.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITY**:
**Assists Purchasing Manager with related logistics.**

**Tasks**:

- Assists Purchasing Manager with international collections through logístical partners.
- Assists Purchasing Manager with 470.03 Register entries and in supplying relevant paperwork and import documents to Bond Stores.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITY**:
**General.**

**Tasks**:

- Performs various ad-hoc related projects when requested.
- Ensures maintenance of housekeeping standards.
- Complies with all Health and Safety Requirements.
- Supports company annual objectives and required culture change initiatives.

**Salary**: R30,000.00 - R50,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Athlone, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
