Draughts Person: Civil and Railway Infrastructure

This Sector is looking for a talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a **Draughts person: Civil and Railway Infrastructure**.
- The below listed responsibilities and requirements are assessed during the interview stages and will further be confirmed with the relevant professional references that you currently are or have reported to in your previously two positions_.
**Core purpose**:
The primary responsibility of the civil draughts person is to collaborate with the engineering teams to develop detailed design drawings, documentation and 3D models for civil and railway infrastructure.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop detailed design drawings, such as geometric alignment drawings, long sections, cross sections, earthworks and ancillary civil infrastructure drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
- Interpret engineering standards, specifications, and other technical documents to create accurate design drawings.
- Review and revise design drawings accurately based on the feedback from the design team within a short turnaround time.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure that the design drawings meet the project requirements and specifications.
- Liaise with external parties to obtain technical information, data and documents as input in the development of design drawings.
- Follow company standards and procedures for quality control checks on the design drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Create and maintain drawing libraries and databases, ensuring that all the drawings are properly filed and organized.
- Prepare bills of quantities and material lists for cost estimates and construction projects.
- Participate in design review meetings and providing technical support and guidance to project teams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Keep up to date with industry standards and technology advancements in AutoCAD, Civil 3D software and add on packages.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Matric.
- Certificate in Draughting.
- Minimum of 10 years project experience in drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D daily to produce drawings and project deliverables.
- Fluent with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Extensive experience in drafting civil and railway infrastructure such as geometric alignments, cross sections, long sections and earthworks etc.
- Experienced in drafting standards, as well as familiarity with civil and railway engineering standards and specifications.

- Ability to work on fast paced design projects.
