**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**:
Responsible for execution of all Rest of Sub Saharan Africa Franchise sales in Restaurant and associated operations activities, designed to deliver continuous sales growth, revenue growth, and margin expansion (profit targets).

Drives the Operations strategy, executes a consistent customer experience across all the restaurants in Africa

Executes a world class Operations Culture and ensures perfect Customer Experience remains priority No 1.

Contributes to the Operations agenda as a member of the Operations Leadership Team

**SCOPE AND MAGNITUDE**:
Position has indirect impact upon
- Africa Sales (Franchise)
- Operating Profit

Employees Supervised Directly: 2 - 6 Ops Managers

**POSITION FUNCTIONS**:

- Deliver World Class Operations and Unmatched Operating Capability agenda across Equity and Franchise.
- Lead continued progress in all elements of People Development, GES, ROCC, Operating Excellence and Sales & Profit Growth as well as Innovation and Continuous Improvement.
- Ensure all restaurants operate with Brand Standards and drive a ‘one-system’ mindset.
- Develop and foster relationships with all key stakeholders in Equity &Franchise to fast track the Ops agenda
- Continue to build a strong culture across field operations
- Build operations capability in the business
- Provide Operations ‘know-how’ across the Africa system.
- Participate in RGM Annual Conference, Equity Stewardships, Field Visits, Business Reviews and other forums as required.
- Drive continuous improvement in fixed and variable restaurant and above store costs with an aim to continuously improve the business model.
- Undertake other duties as required by the COO - Africa

**POSITION IMPACT**:
1. Major Problems
- Establish Brand priorities and schedules to ensure that sales and profit objectives are met or exceeded while delivering on the guest experience and implementing company standards, program, systems and new products.
- Respond to competitive conditions in a timely manner to capitalise on opportunities and to minimise plan deviation.
- Drive operations management to assure continuity of efficient operations.

2. Decision Making Authority
- Leads the Brand, develops strategy and takes decisions to achieve sales, profit and compliance targets.
- Approve wage and salary increases within policy guidelines for the Equity business.
- Approve expenditure in line with company policy.

- COO - Rest of Sub Saharan Africa (direction, policy, approval, prioritization)
- People Development and Capability Director - (support, resource allocation, partnership)
- Leadership Team and other departments (co-operation, support, resource allocation)
- Client's Global Operations (guidance, advice, support)
- Operations team members; REX team, Franchise Business Consultants, Operations Managers, Area Coaches, Restaurant General Managers (consultation, relationship building, understanding of issues and opportunities)

External
- Franchisees (consultation, relationship building, understanding of issues and opportunities)

Specialised or Technical Knowledge/Skills
- Tertiary degree level qualification essential, with major in business, marketing or finance discipline preferred. Post graduate qualification (MBA) highly regarded.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior Operations/Sales Commercial position with direct accountability for sales, profit and people management essential. Experience with retail, service and/or multi-outlet industry highly regarded. Demonstrate people development skills in achievement of results.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of service department functions and ability to maximise same for Market.
- Ability to formulate and analyse financial data essential.
- Sound management, planning, directing, and leading skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience with multi-national preferred
- High work ethic.
