- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute all work in a safe manner in accordance with the safety procedures laid down in the safety manual as well as according to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act- Adhere to safety rules and regulations at all times- Do basic fault finding and problem solving on machine being operated- Immediately notify line manager of issues that cannot be resolved- Set up machine to start a production cycle- Operating the machine.- Push buttons, turn handles or move controls and levers to start and control machines, in accordance with work instructions.- Operating the machines when necessary- Splicing jumbo material rolls while on the machine- Loading cores onto machine- Loading material onto machine- Loading and unloading bins with product run on the machine- Labelling the bins with stock codes, quantity and lot numbers- Setting up the machine as per job specifications- Check product output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws and adjust machine settings to limit waste/ reduce quality defects- Running production according to the production plan- Basic machine maintenance- Recording of raw materials, cores, components and waste- Completion of daily production records- Work on alternate machines or pack when instructed to do so- Housekeeping and sanitation- Achieve daily targets-
**Inherent Requirements**
- KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of Grade 12- Physical ability to do the work independently- Experience on Lathe machines- Experience on a slitting machine (Advantageous)- Basic knowledge of Slit / Rewind machines (Advantageous)- Experience in tape conversion (Advantageous)- Must be able to communicate in English at an acceptable level (written and verbal)- Must be literate in English- Ability to work under pressure- Willing to go the extra mile and work overtime when needed**What Qualification**
