Electrical Panel Estimator

**Electrical Estimator Responsibilities and experience required**:

- Experience in low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies
- Generate a quote from SLD (single line diagram) or electrical information from enquiry.
- Work closely with sales management to obtain detailed project specifications.
- Perform cost estimating and forecasting.
- Develop a cost model.
- Use computer estimating software to create and compile estimates.
- Submit bids and estimates to sales team.
- Participate in bid review meetings
- Produce detailed reports
- Various electrical panel types and steel sizes
- Keep up-to-date on local switchgear and electrical codes (ABB, SCHNIEDER, HAGER, CBI, CHINT ETC )
- Gather information: Obtain all the necessary details about the project. This includes the size and capacity requirements of the new electrical panel, the wiring setup, copper busbar, and any additional electrical components or features needed.
- Familiar with the local electrical codes and regulations. These guidelines determine the specific requirements for electrical panel installations, grounding, wiring, and safety measures. Ensure that your estimate complies with local standards.
- Determine the panel size and capacity: Assess the electrical load requirements of the enquiry to determine the appropriate size and capacity of the electrical panel. Consider the number and type of circuits needed to support the electrical demands, such as lighting, appliances, HVAC systems, and others.
- Assess additional components: Consider any additional electrical components that may be required for the installation or upgrade. This could include items such as circuit breakers, surge protectors, grounding systems, and metering equipment.
- Obtain price quotes: Contact local suppliers to gather pricing on items not on the current system

Bonus Experience fields:
Previous panel building experience

Sage evolution or other accounting software experience

Local switchgear experience / certification or courses completed.

Design software experience i.e Inventor or Auto cad

Min 4-5 years within industry experience

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month

**Experience**:

- Electrical Panel Building Industry: 5 years (preferred)
- AutoCAD: 4 years (preferred)
- Switchgear knowledge: 3 years (preferred)
