**Job Specification - IT manager**

**Purpose of the job**

To manage the installation, maintenance and updating of enterprise server computer systems in order to meet operational requirements.

To manage a team of 3 IT staff.

**Duties**

**Systems Support**:

- Define system specifications and functionality
- Monitor system performance (as per SLA) and make improvement recommendations
- Provide first level systems support to: Pastel, Head Office Admin, Man 3000, Call Cabinet, Access Control, Cameras and Server.
- Provide a business support function to troubleshoot ERP System problems

**IT Supplier Management**:

- Build and maintain beneficial relationships with strategic IT Suppliers
- Monitor IT Service Providers as per contractual requirements and Service Level Agreements
- Monitor and control stocks of critical IT spares
- Order computer parts

**Maintenance**:

- Schedule maintenance for all hardware
- Troubleshoot a variety of computer issues

**Networking**
- Plan and implementadditions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure
- Implement network security
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of the company's infrastructure
- Oversee the administration of the company's WAN

**Help Desk Administration**
- Oversee all help desk activities
- Respond to escalated help desk issues

**IT Projects**:

- Supervise a project team of a IT Systems project to deliver project objectives
- Contribute to project initiation, scope definition and scope change control
- Participate in the estimation and preparation of cost budget for a project or sub project and monitor and control actual cost against budget
- Contribute to the management of project risk within own field of expertise
- Identify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve quality of project work
- Provide procurement administration support to a project
- Sign off IT Projects

**Reporting**:

- Compile IT Reports

**People Management**:

- Manage the Department to achieve work unit objectives (individuals and teams)
- Plan, organise, lead and control activities

**Performance Management**:

- Manage conflicts within the workplace
- Ensure discipline is maintained in the department (Absenteeism, Time Management, overtime, misconduct, etc.). Resolve grievances and disputes

**Training and Development**:

- Mentor individuals to enhance the individual's knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in a selected career path
- Manage individual careers
- Conduct on-the-job training
- Conduct on-the-job coaching

**Minimum requirements**
- At least 3 - 5 years experience in a related role, of which 3 should have been at a supervisory level or experience in a functional/specialist area
- Diploma Information Systems, A+, N+, Cisco Certified, MCITP certified

**Salary**: From R20,000.00 per month
