Snr Payroll Clerk

You will be responsible for the following:
Assist in reconciling payroll accounts with the general ledger, ensuring that all payroll-related transactions are accurately recorded
Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate payroll processing, including the calculation of wages, bonuses, deductions, and taxes
Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll accounting documentation and explanations
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear and accurate information regarding payroll accounting matters
Managing and processing payroll
Full function administration on new employee on boarding, terminations and transfers.
Capture information for Pension Fund for withdrawals, contribution and death claims
Process payroll according to internal policies, procedures, and work instructions
Ensure payments are calculated and paid accurately and timely; ensuring proper calculation of taxes and deductions and associated SARS submissions
Participating in year-end process including year-end adjustments, year-end tax statements and review of year-end tax filing information
Extract payroll reports as required to determine all data is accurate
Resolve payroll queries received from employees
Maintain accurate record keeping
Ad hoc duties as required in the payroll department
Deliver an accurate and excellent customer service to all employees
Capture payroll information and ensure data integrity
Calculate employee wages, process payroll and handle payroll queries
Work cross-functionally with other departments to automate and simplify payroll systems and processes (IRP5, EMP501, PAYE Recons, and Statement of Accounts from SARS).
**Qualifications**
Matric with Mathematics
National Diploma (Accounting / Finance) / Diploma
Minimum of 4 - 5 years’ experience in payroll accounting / general accounting
Computer Literate: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) & Sage 300 & familiarity with accounting software
