**Position Overview**: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Ward Professional Nurse to join our team at the new Mveledzo Day Hospital in Thohoyandou. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients admitted to the hospital ward, coordinating with healthcare teams, and ensuring positive patient outcomes.
- **Key Responsibilities**:

- Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments of patients upon admission and throughout their stay in the ward, documenting relevant information and collaborating with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Administering medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and ensuring patient safety.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status, reporting any changes or concerns to healthcare providers promptly.
- Providing patient and family education on health conditions, medications, self-care techniques, and post-discharge instructions to promote wellness and continuity of care.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, therapists, and social workers to coordinate patient care, referrals, and discharge planning.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes, adhering to regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives, infection control measures, and patient safety protocols within the ward.
- Providing emotional support, comfort, and advocacy for patients and their families during hospitalization, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Registered Nurse qualification with current registration and practicing license.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical nursing practice, preferably in a hospital ward setting.
- Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, patient assessment, and nursing interventions.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and deliver patient-centered care.
- Commitment to continuous learning, evidence-based practice, and adherence to professional standards and ethical principles.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, infection control practices, and patient safety guidelines.
