**Job Description**:
Derivco South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated FinOps Data Analyst to be part of our dynamic team.

As a FinOps Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing financial and operational data to drive cost optimization, efficiency, and financial accountability across our cloud and technology infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and IT, to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and promote a culture of financial responsibility and operational excellence.

**Responsibilities**:

- Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets related to cloud costs, usage, and operational efficiencies. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that provide insights into financial trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across cloud and technology operations. Work with relevant teams to implement cost-optimization strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing data-driven insights into current and future spending trends. Help establish and refine cloud cost allocation methodologies to ensure accurate and equitable distribution of costs.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and refine financial models to predict the impact of various operational changes on costs and efficiency. Assist in the evaluation of new technologies or vendors from a cost-benefit perspective.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with finance, IT, and operational teams to foster a culture of cost transparency and financial accountability. Provide training and support to ensure adherence to FinOps principles and practices.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to streamline financial and operational processes through automation, tooling, and best practices. Participate in the selection and implementation of financial management and analytics tools.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in a data analyst role, preferably within a FinOps, finance, or operations context.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and understanding of cloud billing and cost management tools preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
