**Job Description**:

PURPOSE

As a Solutions Architect you are required to facilitate the definition and planning of business, through the use of structured analysis, modelling and assessment methodologies. The Solution Architect creates clarity about the viability, feasibility and dependencies of a given initiative, identifies the merits and success criteria, and creates the boundary within which project scope will be defined.

You will engage with the following stakeholders:

- Internal management stakeholders
- External partnership stakeholders
- Business development teams
- Business project teams

Your key responsibilities include:
Initiative/ projects for continuous improvement
- Demonstrate innovative and pioneering thinking in area of expertise and translate this into business models, blueprints and business cases
- Demonstrate understanding of customer needs, constraints and capabilities required for delivery
- Deliver client or company specific projects in line with company standards and in agreement with line manager
- Engage and collaborate with all BankservAfrica’s business unit’s domain/business architects to establish and promote Business Architecture
- Establish a Business Architecture framework and Architecture standards in collaboration with all BankservAfrica business unit’s domain/Business Architects and Architecture owners and SME’s
- Support and participate in building the BankservAfrica Operating model/s within standards compliant to critical priorities as per the BSA 2.0 transformation
- Support as part of the current EA Establishment drive the acquisition of an EA tool
- Engage and collaborate to establish a governance and assurance practice for Business Architecture aligned to governance practice being established in IT Architecture
- Collaborate and ensure alignment to IT architecture in day-to-day architecture initiatives/forums

Design, analysis and modelling of business initiatives in service of organizational goals
- Lead internal teams and provide technical guidance to business analysts, IT, product, operations, project management etc to develop strategies to support solutions, products, and processes
- Support with complex presales, customer brainstorming, co-creation/solutioning/innovation, and final customer proposals
- Act as “Strategic Advisor/Lead” as part of a customer interfacing team in customer solutioning discussions
- Reviewing, analysing, and evaluating ideas, projects and opportunities to develop new products, new technologies and business models
- Creating business architectures and models demonstrating how products, operations and systems interoperate within the organization
- Conduct analysis to determine best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement, systems enhancement, user training, and/or software procurement
- Preparing new business and new product ideas for evaluation and business case estimation in accordance with BSVA business practice
- Create and provide roadmaps/process flows/specifications/requirements for proposed solutions
- Proactively identify and recommend new features/processes/improvements

Broad-based organizational participation in initiative design and facilitation
- Evaluate pre-project initiative impacts and escalate issues and risk appropriately
- Collaborating across business segments to perform analysis and modelling; working with technical and business teams to perform analysis and modelling
- Ensure solutions developed across organization are aligned to enterprise architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet financial targets (cost and benefits
- Evaluate and present information that will facilitate effective decision-making through written and oral communication materials that effectively summarize findings with recommendations
- Develop proof-of-concept initiatives to test and validate proposed solutions

Continuous alignment between Business and Information Technology
- Functions as a liaison to Business and IT partners to gain a broad understanding of industry trends and innovations, and their impact on technology
- Work with the business to integrate capability planning and roadmaps into their strategic planning and project implementations
- Collaborate with business leaders, providing input and capability information as inputs to develop business case for initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE
- BComm or BSc Informatics; Business Analysis Diploma; other degree with focus on statistics and data analytics
- Microsoft Office Suite familiarity
- Visio and related modelling tools
