Our client is a large national pioneering manufacturer and supplier of packaging.

**JOB SUMMARY**
EQ8 Recruit has been engaged to help recruit a Distribution Manager to be responsible for coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes. The Distribution Manager will ensure that all deliveries are safely completed as soon as possible while using the resources within budget in the warehouse. They will also provide efficient service to suppliers through effective receiving practices and support production activities by providing raw materials to each section accurately, timeously as per the production plan.

**THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT**
In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:

- National Diploma in supply chain or related qualification
- More than 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Exposure in an FMCG environment is advantageous but not required
- At least three (3) to five (5) years successful supervisory experience preferred
- Proficient with all Microsoft Applications required

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

- Coordinating and driving productivity improvement plans in the Warehousing Department as well as preventing the generation of and subsequent reduction of redundant and/or aged stock
- Reduction and elimination of all losses (waste, damages, downtime and accounting variances)
- Manage and co-ordinate the Warehousing functions so that stock is identifiable, stock is easily retrievable, stock is kept in good condition, storage space is optimised, and stock is rotated (FIFO)
- Ensuring effective control of all inbound loads, i.e. vehicle inspection, inspections (presentation, COC, pallet type), with the requirement documents and transaction processing
- Liaising with Planning, Production and Warehousing to ensure that goods are delivered at the lowest cost within a timely fashion
- Dispatch improvements through Problem Solving & Standardising
- Improvement of dispatch capacity (TAT) and quality (document accuracy, final QA point)
- Create budgets and monitored expenditures
- Update and evaluate logistics KPI to assess performance and implement enhancements
- Receive stock from Suppliers and ensure good governance of these processes, including quality inspections, ensuring required offloading capacity is available, quick truck turnarounds and calling off stock timeously to ensure constant supply of raw materials.
- Supervises and routes local delivery drivers and vehicles
- Responsible for managing fleet maintenance at the branch level
- Oversee improvement in customer satisfaction and dispatch satisfaction
- Setting performance standards for all suppliers and management of service providers (e.g. logistics, clamp truck maintenance).
- Improve receiving throughput efficiently, e.g. by measurement and improvement of truck turnaround times.
- Develops and formulates goals, standards and measures and controls performance against initial plans
