Shift Technician

**Descriptions**:

- Control and monitor of the extrusion processes
- Managing the production shift to ensure optimal efficiencies
- Take full responsibility for process and product quality
- Responsible for timeous, correct line set-ups and changeovers
- Tool changes, feeder changes and raw material changes
- Analyse process and product deviations and perform trouble shooting and adjustments
- High focus on OEE indicators (Availability, Performance, Quality)
- Monitor and inspect machines and equipment to maintain a high level of mechanical performance
- Maintain team morale and discipline - control attendance and punctuality and keeping of records
- Keep production area and facilities in a clean and organised condition
- Responsible for shift safety and a good safety culture of the team
- Drive operational excellence activities such as 5S, set-ups, autonomous maintenance, root cause & corrective action, rapid problem solving, FIFO, tier meetings and skills development
- Do maintenance work on shift as required and assist with general maintenance activities

**Qualifications**:

- Necessary qualification:

- N4 Electrical Qualification / Millwright
- Red Seal Certification
- Necessary experience:

- 5+ years in manufacturing environment (extrusion experience advantageous)
- 3+ years in a position that supervised/managed a team
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Good numeracy skills and computer literacy
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good team player
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Energetic and dynamic
