Senior Buyer

**VACANCY: SENIOR BUYER**

A vacancy for a Senior Buyer has arisen in the Purchasing Department reporting to the Purchasing Manager.

**PURPOSE**:
To support the Purchasing Department in achieving its departmental objectives and to introduce cost saving measures to improve the competitiveness and profitability of the organisation.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:

- Purchase raw materials and components from assigned suppliers
- File and maintain purchase order records
- Confirm and update expected ship/delivery dates on the system
- Resolve purchase order errors as and when they occur
- Daily review of Shipment Status Report and daily review of open purchase order report in order to update expected ship/delivery dates
- Reviewing daily inventory level reports to identify potential stock outs and expediting open orders.
- Maintain safe stock levels, and maintain inventory levels within assigned target limits.
- Monitor and maintain supplier performance records
- Review, compile and implement internal price change documentation
- Work with Quality Engineering, Production and suppliers to resolve supplier quality problems
- Supervisory role related to Local Buyer & Material controller and other team members
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to enforce and maintain high control standards, even under pressure.
- Management of team and processes

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Diploma in Purchasing or relevant field
- Three - Five years relevant experience
- 3-5 Supervisory and/or Management experience
- Syspro Experience is advantageous
- Proficient in MS Office especially MS Excel
- Excellent communication, planning and organising and conflict resolution skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
